Cramlington is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, 9 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The name suggests a probable founding by the Danes or Anglo-Saxons. The population was 44,216 as of 2017. It sits on the border between Northumberland and North Tyneside with the traffic interchange at Moor Farm, Annitsford, linking the two areas. The area of East Cramlington lies east of the A189, on the B1326 road that connects the town to Seaton Delaval.

    Northumberlandia is a huge land sculpture in the shape of a reclining female figure, which was completed in 2012, near Cramlington, Northumberland, northern England. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of earth from neighbouring Shotton Surface Mine, it is 34 metres high and 400 metres long, set in a 19 hectares public park. Its creators claim that it is the largest land sculpture in female form in the world.It is intended to be a major tourist attraction, with the developers hoping that it will attract an additional 200,000 visitors a year to Northumberland. It was officially opened by Anne, Princess Royal on 29 August 2012.
