Lüderitz is a harbour town in south-west Namibia, lying on one of the least hospitable coasts in Africa. It is a port developed around Robert Harbour and Shark Island.
The town is known for its colonial architecture, including some Art Nouveau work, and for wildlife including seals, penguins, flamingos and ostriches. It is also home to a museum, and lies at the end of a currently decommissioned railway line to Keetmanshoop.
In 2013, it was reported that Lüderitz was renamed into ǃNamiǂNûs. This pertains only to the constituency, though.

1 - Felsenkirche (English: Rock Church) on Diamond Hill, a church in vertical gothic style consecrated in 1912. After the diamond rush of 1908 and the completion of the railway line to Keetmanshoop Lüderitz became permanently home to a significant white population. As a result a number of churches were built. Felsenkirche, one of the oldest Lutheran churches in Namibia, is a national monument since 1978.
2 - Kreplinhaus, the residence of the first mayor, Emil Kreplin, built in 1909
3 - Krabbenhöft & Lampe building, contained the first formally registered business in South-West Africa, erected 1909
4 - Deutsche Afrika Bank building, erected 1907
5- Lüderitz Railway Station, erected 1904
6 - Goerkehaus, the residence of Hans Goerke, manager and co-owner of the early diamond umbrella company, erected 1909-1911
Namibia - Keetmanshoop - Giants' Playground
This place is called the Giants Playground because of the way in which massive dolerite boulders have apparently been placed one on top of another by some gigantic force, creating strange rock formations and a series of mazes.

Namibia - Keetmanshoop - Quiver Tree Forest
In the Quiver Tree Forest are about 250 quiver trees; the tallest quiver trees are two to three centuries old. Hyraxes live between them. The forest is a national monument of Namibia.

Eine ideale Tour für alle, die das ganze Land erkunden möchten: Die rund 21-tägige Fahrt (wie alle anderen Touren auch mit optionalen Elementen zur Verkürzung oder Verlängerung) führt Sie von Windhoek in den Süden zum Fish River Canyon, dem zweitgrößten Canyon der Erde, und weiter in die Hafenstadt Lüderitz. Von dort aus fahren Sie nach Swakopmund und dann für ausgiebige Tierbeobachtungen in den Etosha-Nationalpark. Im Iwanowski Reiseführer Namibia finden Sie für jeden Tourabschnitt die km-Angaben, sodass Sie Fahrtzeiten perfekt einkalkulieren können.
