Tuxford is a village and a civil parish on the southern edge of the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England. It may also be considered a small town as it was historically a market town. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 2,516, increasing to 2,649 at the 2011 census.

1. National Centre for Birds of Prey Helmsley
The International Centre for Birds of Prey, formerly the National Birds of Prey Centre, in the United Kingdom houses a large collection of birds of prey with over 60 species of owls, eagles and hawks. It works towards the conservation of birds of prey through education, captive breeding, research and rehabilitation. The centre is located at Boulsdon near Newent in Gloucestershire. The Director is Jemima Parry-Jones. In March 2013 a new branch was opened at Duncombe Park in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.

Top 10 Lincolnshire Cycling Climbs! // PART TWO

Part two of my ride around Lincolnshire and Nottingham ( ). In this leg of the ride I come off the Lincolnshire Wolds and straight West through Bardney, Lincoln into Tuxford and Retford in Nottinghamshire before finally head North back into Lincolnshire once again homeward bound.

East Coast Diverted Freights 01/05/10

Here are some vids of the freight diversions caused by engineering work at South Kirkby Jnc and Hare Park Jn. The freights were diverted to run north on the ECML from Doncaster and then leave it at Hambleton Jnc they then took the line through Gascoigne Wood and the chord to Milford Jn from where they headed to Pontefract East Jn,Pontefract Monkhill,Pontefract Tanshelf,Featherstone,Streethouse,Crofton East Jn,Crofton West Jn (rejoin normal route) and then onwards to their destinations.

- For windmill fans Outwood Mill, also known as a Post Mill on Outwood Common built in 1665 is the oldest working mill in England.

This is a great short video showing the Sweeps turning on Outwood Post Mill which is located at Outwood Common in Surrey.

The old mill at Outwood is still able to produce flour even today and on special event days its possible to buy the flour produced in Outwood Mill. The miller at Outwood Mill is still able to make flour.
