The registered name of the site in the list of World Heritage sites is Fossil Hominid Sites of South Africa. The Sterkfontein Caves were the site of the discovery of a 2.3-million-year-old fossil Australopithecus africanus , found in 1947 by Robert Broom and John T. Robinson. The find helped corroborate the 1924 discovery of the juvenile Australopithecus africanus skull known as the Taung Child, by Raymond Dart, at Taung in the North West Province of South Africa, where excavations still continue. De Deur Ghost
Some short actual video footage of the De Deur ghost of Meyerton, shot on the night of the 17th October 2009. A bright white light appears from nowhere and then dissapears suddenly, often replaced by two red lights (the back of the motorbike). Apparently a young man was decapitated whilst coming out to visit his girlfriend one night - her parents tied a barbed wire across the road as they did not approve of the relationship. The girl later hanged herself. The wire is still tied to the tree to this day.
