Seclantás is a small village located in north western Argentina, 150 km south west from Salta city. Among mountains, valleys and ravines, there lived different nations. All those communities were called DIAGUITAS, which means “people who live among the mountains”. They spoke the Cacan language and occupied a huge territory. Each town or village was under the authority of a chief or “cacique”, who had their privileges and duties. Particularly, the Calchaqui Valley was occupied by several tribes, each one of them had its own chief.
