Germany: The Oldenburg Castle Garden (Schlossgarten)
The Oldenburg Castle Garden is a historic park in the style of an English landscape garden. It was built in the period 1804 to 1819 on behalf of Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig of Oldenburg. Characteristic of the palace gardens are a natural similarly arranged planting with water features, a curved routing and the smooth transition into the surrounding landscape. The Duke In 1828 the Duke planted the now typical for the region rhododendrons. The rhododendrons in the castle garden Oldenburg are among the oldest in the country. Many large trees from around 1800 have been preserved until today.
