All action Steam at the West Somerset Railway Autumn Gala 2014

I decided to spend three days at the Superb West Somerset Autumn Gala (Thursday 2nd October to Sunday 5th October 2014), where they were celebration the 50th Anniversary of the closure of Taunton Steam Locomotive Shed. Apart from the line's own S&D 7F No 88, all other locos were Ex GWR, with several being re-numbered to locos associated with Taunton., With all locos facing smokebox first, and some stunning weather, this was another memorable event from the WSR.
The locos seen in this upload are as follows:
1 7828 Odney Manor attacks Washford Bank as it leaves Watchet.
2 1450 arrives at Crowcombe Heathfield with an Auto Train
3 3863 (3850) Climbs up to Roebuck Crossing.
4 4932 Hatherton Hall ( 4936 Kinlet Hall) storms up Castle Hill.
5 4566 leads 5542 at Doniford
6 9670 (4612) approaches Doniford Halt.
7 Gates closing at Blue Anchor.
8 7820 Dinmore Manor arrives at Blue Anchor.
9 9670 Departs Blue Anchor.
10 4932 Hatherton Hall tops Washford Bank.
11 3863 departs Crowcombe Heathfield.
12 7909 Heveningham Hall (6960 Raveningham Hall) departs Crowcombe Heathfield.

24 4932 arrives at Washford Station with the last Minehead bound train of the Gala.
25 SVR based 1450 hurries the Auto coach 'Chaffinch' and the GWR Director's Saloon through Washford Sation for return to their home base.
26 An opportunity to see the WSR's Somerset and Dorset 7F No 88 in Blue livery attacking Washford Bank on it's final public service before withdrawal for a heavy overhaul, and apparently it will be outshopped in BR Black.
I must also express my sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers at the Railway, for making this visit another very enjoyable experience.

West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala (Taunton 83B Shed Theme) 02/10/2014

The West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala started very well today (Thursday) which is taking place between October 2nd and 5th which the gala marks the 50th Anniversary of the closure of Taunton locomotive shed during the run down of steam hauled trains on the Western Region of British Railways.

They had a large fleet of steam engines in action over the four days with some renamed as locos which were allocated to Taunton at the time of closure. The line-up is as follows:-

- Hall Class 4936 Kinlet Hall” running as 4932 Hatherton Hall”
- Modified Hall - 6960 Raveningham Hall” running as 7909 Heveningham Hall”
- Great Western Manor 7820 Dinmore Manor
- Great Western 2884” Class 3850 running as 3863
- Great Western Small Prairies” 4566 and 5542
- Great Western Large Prairie” 4160 running as 4131
- Great Western 57xx Class 4612 running as 9670
- Great Western 14xx” Class 1450
- Great Western Manor” Class 7828 Odney Manor

On Thursday, most engines were running except for 7828 Odney Manor and SDJR 7F 88.

These were my shots of the whole day in very nice warm weather for October! My shots are as follows:

West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2014

This is a few clips i got at the West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala taken on 3rd October 2014. This year the theme was 50 years sines Taunton sheds closed. So engines was planned that use to run at the sheds.
First we see 57xx Class number 9670 Leaving minehead at Alcombe Common. Next we move down the line to Old Cleeve where we see 7909 Heveningham Hall (6960 Raveningham Hall) storming Washford bank with steam to spare. Moving on we see 7820 Dinmore Manor on the goods at Kensford crossing slowing down for a reduce speed limit and open up just in shot passing the marker. We move around the corner now to Mineral Bridge Watchet where we see 3863 (3850) struggling to climbing the bank and slip out of shot. We finally move to Novies Bridge near Crowcombe Heathfield where we see 1450 on auto going past.
