    Beni Hasan is an Ancient Egyptian cemetery site. It is located approximately 20 kilometers to the south of modern-day Minya in the region known as Middle Egypt, the area between Asyut and Memphis.While there are some Old Kingdom burials at the site, it was primarily used during the Middle Kingdom, spanning the 21st to 17th centuries BCE .To the south of the cemetery is a temple constructed by Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, dedicated to the local goddess Pakhet. It is known as the Cave of Artemis, because the Greeks identified Pakhet with Artemis, and the temple is subterranean.

    The Fraser Tombs are a necropolis located 10 km northeast of Al Minya, Upper Egypt. They sit around 2 km south of Tihna el-Gebel village, which was an ancient limestone quarry.The rock-cut sepulchres date to the Fourth and Fifth dynasties of the Old Kingdom.These tombs were first discovered in the fall of 1853 by the German Egyptologist Heinrich Brugsch and first described by the British civil engineer George Willoughby Fraser, whose name was given to these tombs.The tombs belong to a 3 km long necropolis of the ancient town of Mer-nefer . The tomb owners were stewards of the royal estate.
