Volta Redonda is the name of a municipality in the Rio de Janeiro state of Brazil with an area of 182.81 km², located from 350m to 707m above the sea level and with a population of 259,811 inhabitants . The area around the city has nearly 700,000 km². Its name is due to the round shape of a curve in the Paraíba do Sul river around which the city was built. Situated in Volta Redonda is Companhia Siderurgica Nacional , Brazil's second largest steel producer.     Estádio Municipal General Sylvio Raulino de Oliveira, also known as Raulino de Oliveira, and as Estádio da Cidadania, is a football stadium. It was inaugurated on 14 March 1976 in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro State, and has a maximum capacity of 20,255. The stadium is owned by the City Hall of Volta Redonda, and is the home ground of Volta Redonda Futebol Clube. Its formal name honors Raulino de Oliveira, former president of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, located in Volta Redonda.
