Wreay is a small village in Cumbria, incorporated in 1934 into the Carlisle parish of St Cuthbert Without. It lies on the River Petteril. The M6 motorway, A6 trunk road and West Coast Main Line railway all skirt the village.

1. St Mary's Church Wreay
St Mary’s Church, Wreay is the Church of England parish church of Wreay in Cumbria. It was designed by Sara Losh in about 1835 and built between 1840 and 1842. It is notable as the earliest known example in Britain of a revival of Lombard architecture. It is a Grade II* listed building. Prominent in the churchyard are a mausoleum of Sara Losh's sister, Katharine, and a copy of the Bewcastle Cross.

2. Bamburgh Castle Bamburgh
Bamburgh Castle is a castle on the northeast coast of England, by the village of Bamburgh in Northumberland. It is a Grade I listed building.The site was originally the location of a Celtic Brittonic fort known as Din Guarie and may have been the capital of the kingdom of Bernicia from its foundation in c. 420 to 547. After passing between the Britons and the Anglo-Saxons three times, the fort came under Anglo-Saxon control in 590. The fort was destroyed by Vikings in 993, and the Normans later built a new castle on the site, which forms the core of the present one. After a revolt in 1095 supported by the castle's owner, it became the property of the English monarch. Main Line Steam Archive. Pacifics 35028 & 71000 in winter 2006.

The first upload from my archive of DVD video camera recordings.
In this video we see BR 8P 71000 Duke of Gloucester on a Cathedrals Express working to Eastleigh and Merchant Navy 35028 Clan Line on a VSOE circular working in foggy conditions on 21/12/2006. First up 71000 is captured powering through the thick fog at Brookwood. From here I headed over to a foot crossing at Albury to catch 35028 charging up the bank from Chilworth. I no longer go to this location due to the amount of people who venture where they shouldn't. I do not recommend standing on the track as the guy in the video does! Later on I ventured over to Winchfield for the return of 71000. Here she stopped for water in the thick fog which never lifted during the day. 71000 is watered and then departs in fine style and heads into the darkness providing a great soundtrack.
