Chudleigh is a small rural village 64 kilometres west of Launceston in northern Tasmania, Australia. The town is in the Chudleigh Valley, between the Gog range and the Great Western Tiers. The area is primarily used for farming, though timber and lime production have been significant industries. The fertile flats of the valley are of alluvial origin, from the Permian era. The Chudleigh show, run by the Agricultural and Horticultural society, is an agricultural show held each February.     Lake St Clair is a natural freshwater lake located in the Central Highlands area of Tasmania, Australia. The lake forms part of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. It has an area of approximately 45 square kilometres , and a maximum depth of 160 metres , making it Australia's deepest lake. The lake is fed by the River Derwent, Narcissus River, Cuvier River, and Hamilton Creek.Following a decision by the Tasmanian Government to allow development in national parks and conservations areas. After an 'in principle' permit was granted for the establishment of an 'eco-friendly' resort at Pumphouse Point at Lake St Clair; in 2014 construction began on the new development.
