Chelmsford is the principal settlement of the City of Chelmsford and the county town of Essex, in the East of England. Chelmsford is located in the London commuter belt, approximately 32 miles (51 km) northeast of the notional Centre of London at Charing Cross and approximately 22 miles (35 km) from Colchester.
The main conurbation of Chelmsford incorporates all or part of the former parishes of Broomfield, Great Baddow, Galleywood, Writtle, Moulsham, Widford and Springfield, including Springfield Barnes, now known as Chelmer Village. The communities of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Chelmsford, Ontario, and Chelmsford, New Brunswick, are named after the city.
Chelmsford's population consists of a large number of City and Docklands commuters, attracted by the 30–35 minute journey into Central London via the Great Eastern Main Line railway. The same journey takes approximately 60 minutes by road via the A12. The demonym for a Chelmsford resident is Chelmsfordian.

I was born in Chelmsford. My parents left in 1964 and I cannot remember any of it. Here I return for the first time whilst my mother recollects what it was like in the early 1960s.

There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Park and Ride New Chelmsford Timetable (Begins 30 August 2016)
A new park and ride timetable offering earlier and more frequent peak-time journeys into and out of Chelmsford is set to begin next week.
The new Cross City timetable is set to start on Tuesday, 30 August for buses from Sandon and Chelmer Valley.
Buses will run from Sandon, through the city centre to Chelmer Valley and vice versa with all through services now stopping at Chelmsford Railway Station and Anglia Ruskin University.
During the peak periods, extra buses will just run between Sandon and the city centre on a similar route to the current Sandon service.
The major changes for users will be:
Pre-7am services into the city from both sites
Additional peak hour journeys between Sandon and the City Centre
Sandon customers who usually catch the bus back to the site from Victoria Road South, can use the neighbouring Duke Street stop for more services
Customers returning from the City Centre to Sandon can also board buses at Reed Agency, the Job Centre or Parkway stops.
Sandon customers travelling on Cross City buses into the City will need to alight at Mildmay Car Park or Victoria Road South stops for access to the City Centre.
Chelmer Valley customers who usually use the Job Centre stop, will need to go to the neighbouring Mildmay Car Park or Victoria Road South stop for return services back to the site.
The new timetable will be trialled for three months, before being reviewed later this year.

Cllr Eddie Johnson, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “Park and Ride has been a huge success story for Chelmsford with thousands of people using the service on a daily basis.
“This has helped free up parking spaces in the city centre and ease congestion.
“We have listened to customer feedback and have proposed a new timetable offering earlier and more frequent peak-time journeys to help ensure our Park and Ride service continues to adapt to best serve its users.
“We welcome feedback from our customers as the new timetable rolls out this autumn.
“I would urge new users considering trying the service to put the postcode into their sat-nav so they can enjoy the bonuses of this simple, care-free and environmentally-friendly form of transport.”
Drivers wishing to use the Park and Ride can use the postcodes CM2 7RU (Sandon) and CM3 3PR (Chelmer Valley) to navigate to each car park. Both sites are also clearly signposted from all nearby routes.
