Abiquiú is a small census-designated place located in Rio Arriba County, in northern New Mexico in the southwestern United States, about 53 miles north of Santa Fe. Abiquiu has an elementary school which is part of the Espanola Public Schools.

1. Ghost Ranch Abiquiu
Ghost Ranch is a 21,000-acre retreat and education center located close to the village of Abiquiú in Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico, United States. It was the home and studio of Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as the subject of many of her paintings. The conference center and lodgings at Ghost Ranch are run by the Presbyterian Church but open to the general public. Ghost Ranch is also known for a remarkable concentration of fossils, most notably that of the theropod dinosaur Coelophysis, of which it has been estimated that nearly a thousand individuals have been preserved in a quarry at Ghost Ranch.

Poshuouinge is a large ancestral Pueblo ruin located on U.S. Route 84, about 2.5 miles south of Abiquiu, New Mexico. Its builders were the ancestors of the Tewa Pueblos who now reside in Santa Clara Pueblo and San Juan Pueblo. It has also been referred to informally as Turquoise Ruin, although there is no evidence that turquoise has ever been found in the area. Poshuouinge is situated 3 miles upstream and due west of another Tewa Pueblo ancestral site, Tsama.

Bandelier National Monument is a 33,677-acre United States National Monument near Los Alamos in Sandoval and Los Alamos Counties, New Mexico. The monument preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest. Most of the pueblo structures date to two eras, dating between 1150 and 1600 AD. The Monument is 50 square miles of the Pajarito Plateau, on the slopes of the Jemez Volcanic field in the Jemez Mountains. New Mexico part 2 Santa Fe and Taos:

After breakfast at the Burrito Company, we visit Bandelier National Monument and admire the well-preserved pueblo cliff dwellings abandoned by the natives centuries ago. Then we drive to Taos and visit the main plaza, enjoy some wine tasting and settle in to the Taos Inn in the heart of town, easy walking distance to the attractions. The ski slopes in Taos offer trails for all levels, including our beginner attempts, which were so much fun we went back a second day.
