Agios Ioannis Beach – Lefkada Greece
Agios Ioannis beach is the closest beach to Lefkada Town, separated only 2 km away to the west from the town. It is well-organized with sunbeds and umbrellas facing the wonderful sea. Agios Ioannis beach is home to some old windmills that create a charming and unusual atmosphere. The beach has a beautiful turquoise colour of the sea, but there are fewer visitors swimming because of the wind which is almost constant. That is the reason why this beach is so popular among the surfers, therefore, you could enjoy watching the skills of the experienced surfers all day long. Kitesurfing usually takes place in front of the windmills that stand along the right side of the beach because the wind is more stable there, while windsurfing is mostly practiced on the left side, where the winds soften. This beach consists of three parts: Gira, Mili and Agios Ioannis. These three beaches are actually a part of the same beach, which length is about 3km and it has three different names for different parts. The beach is easily reachable by car, it is located next to the road along which there is a lot of parking space.
