Impressions of our stay at the Palau Royal Resort in Kororo (Malakal Island) - a beautiful 5 star Hotel in Palau. Filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro drone.
The Palau Royal Resort is one of only a few hotels in Palau with an own beach. You can swim and snorkel in the beautiful lagoon and relax on the pool.
We can highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are beautiful designed and the staff is very friendly.
Palau Royal Resort is operated by Nikko Hotels International, a brand owned by Okura Nikko Hotel Management, open operation in June, 2005.

PALAU, EXPLORING a special COMMUNITY MEETINGHOUSE (BAI) in KOROR (WESTERN PACIFIC)
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Palau which is an archipelago of over 500 islands, part of the Micronesia region in the western Pacific Ocean. We are going to visit Koror Island which is home to the former capital, also called Koror, and is the islands’ commercial center.
Most of Palau's important cultural symbols are derived from its chiefly past, in particular the gable of the community meetinghouse, bai, one of which we are going to visit here. This impressive thatched building was the center of political, social, and artistic life. Today the decorated bai gable is used in most national and state seals and to decorate Palauan buildings. Other important symbols include the circle subdivided in four, representing wealth, and the half shell symbol of the giant clam shell, which also represents the foundation of Palau and the creation of humanity from the sea. The image of the traditional Palauan mother at the time of her first child ceremony symbolizes the wealth and fertility of this matrilineal society. Symbols of nationhood include the national flag, a full golden moon on a blue background, and the national anthem.

Yapease Quarry Sites, Palau
The Yapese Disk Money Regional Sites involved two countries, Republic of Palau and Federated States od Micronesia. In Palau two sites namely Uet el Daob ma Uet el Beluu and Chelechol ra Orrak in a Rock Island in Airai State was where the oval/round disk money were quarried by the Yapese before they were transported back to Yap. Chelechol ra Orrak contains series of caves behind a beach along the west coast of the Rock Island. Both sites contain best examples of activities associated with quarrying of largest money in world including rock shelters, caves, complete and unfinish disk money, human remains, burials, rock alignments, retaining walls, shell middens, docks, flake debitage and artifacts. An archaeological excavations in one of the caves at Chelechol ra Orrak in the summer of 2000, unearthed human burials dating to more than 3000 years ago. These are the earliest human burials found in the Pacific Islands outside of the Melanesia.
