Bear Creek is an unincorporated community in southwestern Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. It is named for a nearby creek that eventually flows into the Rocky River. The community lies along Old US Highway 421 and is situated between Siler City and Goldston. Bear Creek is home to Chatham Central High School, one of three high schools in the county. It is also home to Southern Supreme, a mail-order gourmet foods company best known for manufacturing fruitcakes. Bear Creek is also known for its vast farm land including Councilman Farms and Phillips Farms.

    Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Rose Garden is an arboretum and garden located within Tanglewood Park at 4201 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, North Carolina. It is open daily without charge. The park was laid out from 1921 onwards by Mr. and Mrs. William Neal Reynolds, brother of tobacco entrepreneur R. J. Reynolds, and in 1951 willed to the citizens of Forsyth County. It is now maintained by Cooperative Extension Service, Forsyth County Center, and includes an arboretum, rose garden, and various other gardens, with displays as follows: Arboretum - small trees, dwarf conifers. Rose garden - approximately 800 rose bushes, of which some 400 are American Rose Society winners.
