A night at the Woodlands Resort in beautiful Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
In September of 2018 I had the opportunity to spend a week in the Pocono Mountains of Northeast, Pennsylvania. Four nights were spent at the Woodlands Hotel and Resort. This is truly a hotel for outdoor people. There are waterfalls on a beautiful creek. At night they turn the lights on at one of the waterfalls. Across a footbridge over the creek, there is a hillside to explore, with it's own mini trail system. The exterior of the hotel suits the mountains and woods of Northeastern, Pennsylvania (very natural), with a well lit parking lot. Inside the hotel, you will find a unique ambience. There are plenty of windows to see the natural setting outside. The rooms are magnificent, and there is free breakfast in the morning. Outside the cafeteria there are some picnic tables, on a living (green roof). the outside overlooks the wilderness Style creek. There were even some crabapple trees, featuring little yellow- orange tart apples! Tasty. There are conference rooms, and places for live entertainment and night life inside. There are also numerous places in the area where you can have an outdoor adventure. Thanks Woodlands, for making my experience special.
