Brinnon is a census-designated place in Jefferson County, Washington, United States. The population was 803 at the 2000 census. The community is named for Elwell P. Brinnon, who, in 1860, took a donation land claim at the river's mouth. Brinnon is the home of Camp Parsons, the oldest Boy Scout camp west of the Mississippi River, which was founded in 1919.Approximately 61 miles north of Olympia, Brinnon is located on the Olympic Peninsula's east side, along Hood Canal on the eastern edge of the Olympic National Forest.

A little taste of Japan at the Washington State Arboretum.

The Bennett family drive North to Seattle to visit the beautiful Washington Park Arboretum. I swear it was like a taste of Japan. So many pagodas and even a pond full of Koi fish and turtles. We then went to Ivar's fish bar for a nice lunch. Thanks for watching!

Franklin Falls Waterfall Hike, Snoqualmie Pass, Washington

Franklin Falls is on Denny Creek between North Bend and Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 in Washington State. It is in the median area between the east and west bound lanes of the freeway in a section where the lanes are separated by a wide expanse of forest land.

We hiked from the trail head to Franklin Falls, about a mile, over a well groomed trail that featured very little difficulty.

We were there in mid-May so the water was flowing pretty heavily. As I understand, in the hot summer months, though the creek isn't as full, it's still a good time to visit these falls. Since you can hike right to the base of the falls, the cool spray from the waterfall is very refreshing on a hot day.
