    Vihren is the highest peak of Bulgaria's Pirin Mountains. Reaching 2,914 metres , it is Bulgaria's second and the Balkans' third highest, after Musala and Mount Olympus. Although due to the karst topography Vihren is deprived of lakes and streams, a number of Pirin's lakes are located around the peak, as is Europe's southernmost glacial mass, the Snezhnika glacielet. Until 1942 Vihren was known as Eltepe ; it was also called Buren and Malnienosets . The UNESCO World Heritage Site Pirin National Park was originally known as the Vihren National Park. Vihren is included in the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria under № 2.

    Kaliakra is a long and narrow headland in the Southern Dobruja region of the northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, 12 kilometres east of Kavarna, 60 kilometres northeast of Varna and 65 kilometres southwest of Mangalia. The coast is steep with vertical cliffs reaching 70 metres down to the sea. Kaliakra is a nature reserve, where dolphins and cormorants can be observed. It sits on the Via Pontica, a major bird migration route from Africa into Eastern and Northern Europe.     Snezhanka is a show cave in the Rhodope Mountains, some 5 km away from the town of Peshtera, southern Bulgaria. It was discovered in 1961. To reach it requires a half an hour uphill. Some of the most beautiful cave formations in Bulgaria can be seen inside. The cave is 145 metres long, with a constant annual temperature of 8°C, and was formed by the Novomahlenska River 3.5 million years ago. The cave is rich in stalactites, stalagmites, draperies and sinter lakes.
