    The Open Hand Monument is a symbolic structure designed by the architect Le Corbusier and located in the Capitol Complex of the Indian city and union territory of Chandigarh. It is the emblem or symbol of the Government of Chandigarh and symbolizes the hand to give and the hand to take; peace and prosperity, and the unity of mankind. The largest example of Le Corbusier's many Open Hand sculptures, it stands 26 metres high. The metal structure with vanes is 14 metres high, weighs 50 short tons , and was designed to rotate in the wind.

    Panjab University is a public collegiate university located in Chandigarh, India. It originated in 1882, but was established in 1947, making it one of the oldest universities in India. The university has 78 teaching and research departments and 15 centres/chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over the eight districts of Punjab state and union-territory of Chandigarh, with Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur cities in Punjab state.The campus is residential, spread over 550 acres in sector 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh.
