Chapin, popularly known as the capital of Lake Murray, is a small, lake town located at the northern tip of Lexington County, South Carolina bordering Newberry County, South Carolina to the south. Lake Murray separates Chapin from the rest of Lexington County. Chapin is located approximately 22 miles northwest of Columbia and many people commute there for work, however, the town is considered fringe rural by the US postal service. Santee is a town in Orangeburg County along the Santee River Valley in central South Carolina, United States. It has become a resort town of note located centrally north-south along the Atlantic Seaboard of South Carolina. The region has been rural, with a primarily agricultural economy typical of Orangeburg County, but is now known primarily for its several golf courses in proximity to Lake Marion, Santee State Park and other Lake Marion attractions. Interstate 95 connects its attractions easily with tourists traveling by automobile. I-95 crosses a narrow arm of the lake into the town lands, along a causeway. Crowders Mountain State Park is a 5,126-acre North Carolina state park in Gaston County, North Carolina in the United States. It is near Kings Mountain, North Carolina and on the outskirts of Gastonia, North Carolina, it includes the peaks of Crowder's Mountain and The Pinnacle. Crowders Mountain was named for Crowders Creek which originated near its base. Contrary to some historical information, Crowders Mountain was not named for Ulrick Crowder . There is no historical evidence that he was ever in the immediate area.[1] The cliffs are a popular destination for rock climbers.

Aerial Footage of the Columbia, SC Flood 2015

Firstly, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. These shots were taken around various parts of Columbia South Carolina with the majority of shots covering the eastern side of the city. Our initial purpose for traveling to Columbia was to assist with any search and rescue efforts that were taking place and to provide any assistance to local LE. We felt the need to also document this historic event as it could help with future rebuilding of these areas and for educational purposes.

There were no violations that took place during the capturing of this footage. Safety precautions were priority for each flight. There were also no TFR's on this day. There were heli's that would come in low on occasion and the right away was always given to them. Any flights made with heli's nearby were kept under 100' AGL with a close eye on their AGL of approx. 400'
