Chewelah is a city in Stevens County, Washington, United States. It is located approximately 45 miles north northwest of Spokane, WA. Chewelah was labeled Chiel-Charle-Mous on the 1897 U. S. Land Office Map. The population was 2,607 at the 2010 census which was a 19.3% increase over the 2000 census.

49 Degrees North Ski Area is a ski resort in the western United States, located inside Colville National Forest in Stevens County, Washington, 10 miles east of Chewelah, which is 42 miles north of Spokane. The base is at an elevation of 3,923 feet above sea level with the summit at 5,774 feet on Chewelah Mountain, yielding a vertical drop of 1,851 feet . Its slopes are primarily north-facing and are served by six chairlifts, one quad and five doubles. The ski area first opened 46 years ago in late 1972 with three chairlifts. It is actually at 48.3° North, about 50 miles south of the 49th parallel, the international border with Canada. Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a ski resort in the northwest United States in northern Idaho, 11 miles northwest of Sandpoint. Located in Bonner County in the Selkirk Mountains, it overlooks Lake Pend Oreille to the southeast with views of the Bitterroot and Cabinet mountain ranges. The ski area is approximately 45 miles south of the Canada–US border. Schweitzer Mountain has a summit elevation of 6,400 feet above sea level with a vertical drop of 2,440 feet . Strange possibly megalithic rock in Washington State

This is on my family's property in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. The stone looks unnaturally round and smooth on the south facing side, which may have been the top of the stone when it was once standing upright.

Hwy 20, riding into Colville, Part 1, WA

Heading westwards on Highway 20 and beginning the descent into the Town of Colville on a rather hazy day. We begin passing the Colville Municipal airport area at 2:00 minutes, you can just see the end of the runway to the left behind the fence at 2:10 minutes. Towards the end of the video we are passing the main buildings of the Colville Valley Concrete Corporation seen to the right.
