Chiyoda is a special ward located in central Tokyo, Japan. It is known as Chiyoda City in English.It was formed in 1947 as a merger of Kanda and Kōjimachi wards following Tokyo City's transformation into Tokyo Metropolis. The modern Chiyoda ward exhibits contrasting Shitamachi and Yamanote geographical and cultural division. The Kanda area is in the core of Shitamachi, the original commercial center of Edo-Tokyo.     Nippon Budokan , often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Budokan was originally built for the judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, hence its name, which translates in English as Martial Arts Hall. Its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests and for a time was a popular venue for Japanese professional wrestling. It has hosted numerous other sporting events such as the 1967 Women's Volleyball World Championship and other events such as musical concerts. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there, in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966.     The Tokyo International Forum is a multi-purpose exhibition center in Tokyo, Japan. The complex is generally considered to be in the Yurakucho business district due to its adjacency to the Yurakucho Station. However, it is administratively in the Marunouchi district. Tokyo International Forum was built on the site of the Tokyo City Hall, before it was moved to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Nishi-Shinjuku.
