Cimarron is a village in Colfax County, New Mexico, United States which sits on the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The population was 1,021 at the 2010 census, making it the 4th most populated municipality in Colfax County. Cimarron sits on the Cimarron River, a tributary to the 900 mile long Canadian River whose headwaters are at the Eagle Nest Dam, with the main part of town lying along U.S. Route 64. The village is surrounded on all sides by numerous ranches, including Philmont Scout Ranch, an extensive high-adventure base operated by the Boy Scouts of America.     Angel Fire is a village in Colfax County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 1,216 at the 2010 census. It is a popular ski resort destination, with over 500 acres of slopes. Angel Fire and nearby communities experience cold winter temperatures and mild temperatures in the summer. To the north, off U.S. Route 64, is Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park, begun by the family of fallen United States Marine David Westphall, who was killed in the Vietnam War on May 22, 1968. Angel Fire is on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway.
