Cocolalla is an unincorporated community in Bonner County, Idaho, United States. Cocolalla is located on the south shore of Cocolalla Lake 12 miles south-southwest of Sandpoint. The community is served by U.S. Route 95. Cocolalla has a post office with ZIP code 83813. The meaning of Cocolalla is not clear: one source states it is from a Coeur d'Alene Salish word meaning very cold; another source states it is an English derivation of a Coeur d'Alene Salish word meaning “deep water.”

1. Schweitzer Mountain Sandpoint
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a ski resort in the northwest United States in northern Idaho, 11 miles northwest of Sandpoint. Located in Bonner County in the Selkirk Mountains, it overlooks Lake Pend Oreille to the southeast with views of the Bitterroot and Cabinet mountain ranges. The ski area is approximately 45 miles south of the Canada–US border. Schweitzer Mountain has a summit elevation of 6,400 feet above sea level with a vertical drop of 2,440 feet . There are 92 named runs and open bowls on Schweitzer's skiable area of 2,900 acres , and the average annual snowfall is over 300 inches . The longest continuous groomed run is Little Blue Ridge Run, at 2.1 miles , and the uphill lift capacity is 12,502 passengers per hour. Beautiful free camping isn't too difficult to find on Lake Pend Oreille but finding a spot with signal that's also close to Sandpoint, ID can be. After boondocking 3 nights on Driftwood Yard Road I can tell you this is an excellent place to camp for free near Clark Fork, ID.
