2. Valleyfair Shakopee
Valleyfair is a 125-acre amusement park in Shakopee, Minnesota, United States. Owned by Cedar Fair, the park opened in 1976 and now features over 75 rides and attractions including eight roller coasters. Valleyfair also has a water park called Soak City which is included with the price of admission. Cedar Point and Valleyfair were the first two parks in the Cedar Fair chain and a combination of the park names – cedar and fair – were used to name the company.

Located in the Bunker Hills Regional Park in Coon Rapids. Bunker Beach is Minnesota's largest outdoor waterpark and your destination for summer fun in the sun!

MUST SEE BLACK BEACH IN MINNESOTA!

When researching beaches along the North Shore of Minnesota, Black Beach kept showing up as a must visit beach. The black comes from unusable taconite being dumped into the lake.

This was one of the few places we stopped that did not have a waterfall but it was beautiful and should be on your list if you are taking a road trip through Minnesota.

I also saw some railroad stop lights that they were ready to recycle.

The town used to have every place open on my last visit in the late 1980's.
Some of the buildings have falling plaster from the inside.

Anoka: Halloween Capital of the World

Anoka, Minnesota is the Halloween Capital of the World. That designation was official bestowed upon the city by Congress in the early part of the 20th Century. The tradition continues today as the city is celebrating its 93rd annual Halloween!

St Croix River

Recent heavy rains in Minnesota and Wisconsin have caused very heavy run off into the St. Croix River. The river through Taylors Falls is 7-10 feet above normal in just a couple days. You can see flood waters coming over the top of the dam, which is quite rare.
