Welcome to Curtis, Nebraska
Nestled in the beautiful Medicine Creek Valley, Curtis is roughly equidistant between McCook, Lexington and North Platte. Separated by only seven miles, Curtis proudly proclaims excellent school systems and today, as it has been for millennia, the primary business in Frontier County is farming and ranching. Archaeological evidence suggests the population of the valley is roughly the same now as when it was occupied by Native Americans 1300 years ago.
Heartland Military Museum & Nebraska & Firefighters Museum Lincoln Highway
Road trip on the Lincoln Highway checking out the Heartland Military Museum. This place is cool. Then a short drive later I see the Nebraska Firefighters Museum small but well-stocked museum.

Absolutely the nicest city park we've ever seen! City has many amenities to busy you during your stay. The golf course is adjacent to the RV sites and prices for food and beverage in the area will surprise you. Cost to park? $10 a day.
Chadron State Park, NE.
May 21st, 2013 was a dreary, rainy day as we pulled into Charon State Park, 9 miles south of Chadron off Hwy 385. The majestic beauty of The Pine Ridge forms the backdrop for this great, getaway from it all, state park. At an elevation of nearly 5,000 feet, the 972 acre park lies in the heart of the Nebraska National Forest and is dominated by ponderosa pines. The park offers a swimming pool, horseback trail rides, tennis and sand volleyball courts, a craft center, snack bar, mountain bike rentals, paddle boats on the picturesque lagoon, fishing, hiking, evening programs, picnic tables, water, dump station, showers and modern restrooms. 70 camping pads with 20/30 Amp hookups are available as well as 18 non-pad sites with no electricity. For added luxury, there are 22 cabins for rent also.
Yoly and I drove the very scenic Blackhills Overlook Road to Lookout Point to gaze upon the scenic view. While we were there we met one of the friendliest rangers we'd ever run across, Scott Eveland. Scott and I are both boaters and we shared some stories. He told us of the dramatic fight they had last fall to save the park after several dry lightening strikes set the park ablaze. You can see the recovery process in motion everywhere you look and evidence of the devastation.
Riverside Park - Neligh Nebraska
A popular park and campground in North Western Nebraska. Met a lot of old geezer retirees who may darken my door since many are traveling to some of the locations I have scheduled.
The town of Neligh offers compact versions of all the services an RV'r could need.
A definite keeper on my route list.
But watch out for the military jets blasting overhead.
Linoma Beach RV Park Nebraska
video by - This park near Lincoln and Omaha deserves some mention. It is right on the Platte River, and on a little pond/lake formed by being close to the river. Everyone that lives here also has a lake-life with tubing, floating or boating. It is a little gem hidden in a quiet little state called Nebraska.
The new 4-Laneing of U.S. 63 | Moberly to MO 22 | June 14, 2002 | 1 of 2
Recorded onto Video-CD, this video covers the opening of the new Northbound lanes of U.S. 63 from Moberly to MO Route 22 just less then 24 hours earlier. In this segment we'll ride the old road. The road is still dressed for 2-way traffic, so no passing zone stripes are still in place, though no longer in play. This is one of the rare times where I drive the passing lane just for the novelty of it.
The video continues on pass MO 22 and we'll hit Columbia to actually conduct business. Then back onto 63 we go and head back to Moberly. This segment ends on the way back near MO 124.

Trip to Las Vegas & California 2013 | 14 of 22 | The Pacific Coast Highway | Front
Starting out near Salmon Creek Falls on California Route 1, we head North passing some absolutely beautiful sights. Road work had traffic tied up near the Limekiln State Campground. So I whip out my phone and shot some video of the coastline. The gray things you see on the beach below are seals. Finally traffic starts to move again and we pass under a man made tunnel and a new bridge CalTrans is working on. From here it's a long ways to Carmel Highlands. We'll fill up in Carmel (the first station was 10¢ higher then the 2nd station, so I changed lanes quickly.) We'll travel the Monterey Metro Area and stay with CA-1. We'll pass Watsonville on our way to the Santa Cruz Metro Area. Staying on CA-1 we stay on the coastline up to just East of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse where we change out discs.
The next segment we'll reach San Francisco.
