The Dumbest Rules of New York
There are plenty of other towns in the region that aren’t quite as cosmopolitan as NYC. You may think of New York as the home of modern enlightenment and worldliness, but the state has its fair share of stupid laws on the books. Granted, many of these silly rules are old and rarely enforced, but if you’re not careful you just might be breaking the law.
1.Women Can Be Topless
In New York, women can feel free to walk topless through the streets and flaunt the gifts bestowed upon them. Unless, of course, those women are using their nudity to earn money. So, it’s fine for ladies to give it away for free but a crime for them to charge.
2. The Peanut Statute
In one small town in New York, it’s illegal to eat peanuts, but only if you’re walking backwards on a sidewalk. Honestly, though, even that is okay, provided there’s not a concert going on. It’s a very, very specific rule.
3. Don't Eat and Swim
The people in New York must be abnormally bouyant. One town’s rules state that it’s illegal to eat when you’re swimming in the ocean. Not only would it be difficult to swim and chew at the same time, it’s tough to imagine something that would taste awesome with tepid sea water all over it.
4. Ice Cream Cones
New York has made it a crime to walk around on Sundays with an ice cream cone in your pocket. Of course, it’s probably a good idea to never put an ice cream cone in your pocket, but the real question here is: why is this only outlawed on Sunday?
5. Grade School Trauma
This one has to be the result of some elementary school razzing, right? A future law maker got mocked and then turned to his abuser and vowed, “Oh yeah? I’m gonna make it illegal for citizens to greet one another by putting one’s thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers, you meanie!” And he (or she) made good on that. It’s really inspiring, actually.
6. The Suicide Rule
In the state of New York, jumping off a building more than 50 feet tall is illegal. Another way to say that is: if you attempt suicide by jumping off a building and you fail, the government will be more than happy to get the job done for you. The person you have to feel bad for is the guy who leaps out of a burning building and miraculously survives, only to get immediately arrested and charged with a capital offense.
7. Keep It To Yourself
One has to wonder how people actually find each other in New York. It’s got to be especially difficult since the mere act of flirting can be greeted with a fine of $25 (don’t people break this law every day?). So, either keep it to yourself, or learn to keep it really subtle.
8. The Girly Man Law
In one of the five burroughs (we’re looking at you, Staten Island), somebody must have had a tough Pop, because it’s now totally illegal for a father to use … let’s call them rude slang terms for homosexuals … in order to man his kid up. The weirdest part of this rule is that it actually needs to have been written down.
9. Don't Throw Balls
You have to assume this one has been put in the books recently. In New York, it’s illegal to get your jollies by throwing a ball at someone’s head for fun. There’s no confirmation as to whether or not it’s okay to throw a ball at someone’s head for some other reason (spite, maybe?), but we’re betting that’s frowned upon, too.

1. Tower Burger (Amour de Miami):
This massive burger is an absolute monster. The river of cheese fondue that’s poured on top makes it a rich and decadent treat!
2. Elote (Tacos and Tattoos):
I’ve had this Mexican corn on the cob dish before, but none of them were as good as this creamy, spicy, and mouthwatering version!
3. The Yardbird (Spring Chicken):
This juicy and tender fried chicken sandwich with Duke’s mayo and pickles is one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had!
4. Lobster Mac & Cheese (Yardbird):
This was one of the cheesiest and creamiest lobster macs I’ve ever had, and one of the prettiest, with a gorgeous presentation including a whole lobster!
5. Swolf Burger (Clutch Burger):
With a waygu beef patty, chorizo, and seared pork belly, this fatty, juicy burger is perfect for any meat lover. It’s one of my favorite burgers ever!
6. Nutella Obleah (Amazonica):
This Colombian treat with Nutella and shredded coconut spread between two thin wafers was a pleasant surprise and a flavorful snack everyone should try!
7. Fish Molee (Ayesha Pinecrest):
This flaky and tender dish from the Indian state of Kerala is fresh and bursting with flavor. Its sauce was so good I wanted to drink it!
8. Star Luca Pizza (Mister O1):
This spicy salami and large dollops of ricotta cheese baked into this pizza’s crust make for an unreal flavor and texture combination!
9. Cachapa (Budare Bistro):
This warm corn pancake with white cheese and sour cream is one of my all-time favorite Venezuelan breakfast foods, and the ones at Budare Bistro are outstanding!
10. Breakfast All Day Burger (BurgerFi):
Imagine adding eggs, bacon, hash browns, and maple syrup to a tender, juicy burger. That’s what this burger is, and it is sensational.
11. Saag Paneer (Bollywood Masala):
This cottage cheese dish that’s served in a flavorful creamy spinach sauce is a popular dish in India, for good reason. This version was absolute perfection!
12. Malanga Tots (Amelia’s 1931):
These deep-fried root vegetable tots that are topped with vaca frita, garlic, and two different mayos are flavor and texture bombs! They are fantastic!
13. Papaya Salad (Sansara):
This chilled, bright salad, mixed with the salty, fatty pork belly was like if Thailand and Cuba got married right on my place. They paired so well together!
14. Rock Shrimp Pizza (Harry’s Pizzeria):
This unusual pizza featuring rock shrimp, Manchego cheese, scallions, and lemon took me back to my time in Greece and had me at a loss for words!
15. French Assassin (Killer Melts):
This mind-blowing breakfast burger between two slices of French toast is easily one of the best breakfast burgers ever!
16. 48-oz. Porterhouse Steak (Shula’s):
This fatty and perfectly cooked steak was absolutely massive and the best steak I’ve ever eaten!
17. Peking Duck (Tropical Chinese):
This Beijing specialty is incredible when rolled into a crepe with crispy duck skin, scallions, cucumbers, and red sauce!
18. The U (Sweet Dogs):
The bacon, sautéed onions, salsa, sauerkraut, and corn chips on this wild hot dog make it an instant favorite!
19. Spicy Tuna Cone (Kraken Lab):
The spicy tuna, briny roe, and sweet waffle cone make for a magnificent flavor and texture combination that seriously blew my mind!

Coconut Grove
Located on the edge of Biscayne Bay, south of downtown Miami, Coconut Grove is one of the city's oldest neighbourhoods, with bohemian roots. Settled by a multicultural group of Bahamians and New Englanders, the neighbourhood drew artists and intellectuals, who set up summer homes here. Today, it is a trendy district with a bustling village atmosphere, full of colourful galleries, theatres, nightclubs, fine restaurants, hip sidewalk cafés and shops.

Coral Gables
This elegant Mediterranean-style residential district, 16km (10 miles) southwest of downtown Miami, was created by local developer George Merrick during the boom years of the 1920s. It also contains some of the city's finest architecture, set amid broad boulevards, canals and parkland. Things NOT To Do in New York
New York City is often referred to as the greatest city in the world and we can see why. Just the energy alone is magnetic. But before you consider yourself an NYC expert, check out these 13 things you should not do in the Big Apple.
1. Don't buy a Sandwich from Subway
NYC offers some of the best fresh delicatessens in the world like the Carnegie Deli, Artie’s Delicatessen and 2nd Avenue Deli on 33rd street. But avoid Katz’s as it has turned into a huge tourist trap.
2. Don't Get into an Empty Subway Car
There’s a reason that it’s empty. Either the A/C isn’t working or there’s spilled bodily fluid or something is up. Trust us!
3. Don't Stop on the Sidewalk
Do not be that tourist that stops in the middle of the sidewalk to look at a map or to take a photo. New Yorkers are speed-walking pros so don’t impede the flow.
4. Don't Make Small Talk
New Yorkers are not necessarily known for their calm, patient, friendly demeanor, so don't expect to spark up idle chit chat on the street. They're usually happy to give directions but only to prove how well they know the city.
5. Don't Eat at a Chain Restaurant
Locals avoid Times Square like the plague as it is a tourist trap with lots of chain restaurants and visitors wearing “I LOVE NY” t-shirts (oh, yeah avoid this too). Patronize the myriad of local restaurants to really experience the authentic flavors of the city.
6. Don't Avoid the Outer Boroughs
Manhattan is usually what most people think of when they visit New York, but there are four other boroughs to explore too. Take the subway to Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn or Staten Island and discover the unique charm of greater New York City.
7. Don't Pay for a Statue of Liberty Tour
Avoid this outrageously priced tour and take the Staten Island ferry instead. The 50 minute round-trip ride passes most of the same sights and is completely free of charge.
8. Don't Skip a Museum Because of the Entry Fee
The entry fee that you see for most of New York's world renowned museums is just a suggested amount. You actually only have to pay what you can afford.
9. Don't Use an ATM Inside of a Store
Some store owners that don’t accept credit cards but provide a convenient ATM inside their shops. However, it's a trap! These machines often charge an excessive withdrawal fee!
10. Don't Assume It’s Safe to Cross the Street
Many tourists wander across the street because they see groups of other people doing so. Fast-walking New Yorkers will make it safely to the other side because they have the well-honed instincts of a local. You, however, do not. Wait for the pedestrian light if you value your life.
11. Don't Tell the Cab Driver Where You’re Going Before Getting In
This way the picky driver won't be able to tell you they’re not going that far. Hail the cab, hop in and then explain where you’d like to go. Use the subway or walk as much as possible, because taxis will most likely end up stuck in gridlock traffic.
12. Don't Be a Scam Victim
Don’t buy blank CD's from aspiring young rappers or be fooled by the man dressed in a suit asking for bus fare. Avoid playing card games on the street and watch your wallet in large crowds. New York is full of scam artists, so keep your guard up.
13. Avoid the High Line on Weekends
This public park built atop an old elevated railway on Manhattan's West Side is definitely worth strolling, but avoid the weekends when it's a wall-to-wall tourist-clogged conveyor belt.
