The United States embargo against Cuba is a commercial, economic, and financial embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba. The United States first imposed an embargo on the sale of arms to Cuba on March 14, 1958, during the Fulgencio Batista regime. Again on October 19, 1960 the U.S. placed an embargo on exports to Cuba except for food and medicine after Cuba nationalized American-owned Cuban oil refineries without compensation. On February 7, 1962 the embargo was extended to include almost all exports.     Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located approximately 40 miles southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico, near Cochiti Pueblo. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management , it was established as a U.S. National Monument by President Bill Clinton in January 2001. Kasha-Katuwe means white cliffs in the Pueblo language Keresan. The monument is a unit of the BLM's National Conservation Lands.
