Cumberland Gap Tennessee, Reaching for You
The town of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee is a great place to experience the Cumberland Mountains. You can walk the streets and see mountains in every direction. I drove from Corbin, KY to check out this area. I believe that I will stay at the Cumberland Gap Inn next time I am in this area. I like to take late afternoon strolls after I have eaten dinner and this town provides excellent sites to experience Gods awesome wonder. There are many scenic drives and hikes in this area. It is a great take off point. Fall is the best time of the year to visit this area. Fall is my favorite time of year. I imagine that Heaven will be Fall like for all eternity!!
Where To Eat When Vacationing at Lake Cumberland
There is so much to do and see when you vacation at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky! In addition to all the Lake Cumberland attractions, hotels, motels & lakeside cabin rentals, there are so many delightful restaurants on the lake or on the Cumberland River. The Creelsboro Country Store was originally built in the 1800's when Creelsboro, Kentucky was a bustling center of commerce. Over time Creelsboro became a Ghost Town...UNTIL NOW! Creelsboro Country Store is opening the summer of 2018 & features Kentucky Farm to Table entrees and homemade desserts. Come and have a great authentic Kentucky home-cooked meal and then shop in the Country Store - now restored! This is more than just a restaurant, it is truly a destination. This wonderful Lake Cumberland area restaurant is also on the way to the Creelsboro Natural Arch (also called The Rockhouse).

Historic Yancey's Tavern in Sullivan County, Tennessee
Located just east of Kingsport, Tenn on Island Rd., the first wagon road in the state, Yancey's Tavern was erected in 1779. It was entered in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and is currently shown by appointment only.
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (Kentucky/Tennessee)
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area preserves the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River and its tributaries in northeastern Tennessee and southeastern Kentucky. In addition, the former mining community of Blue Heron is preserved and interpreted via signage.
The Big South Fork region contains one of the highest concentrations of natural bridges in the eastern United States and the area is located in parts of Scott, Fentress, Pickett, and Morgan counties in Tennessee, and McCreary County in Kentucky. Charit Creek Lodge is a wilderness lodge, accessible by trail, located within the park.
