After partition of Punjab, the building was taken over by the government of Himachal Pradesh. Since then, the Department of Art & Culture started looking after the Gurudwara affairs. Due to meager Sikh population in the area and non-patronization by the Chail Military School, the condition of the Gurudwara has deteriorated over the years.
