Eastern Norway is the geographical region of the south-eastern part of Norway. It consists of the counties Telemark, Vestfold, Østfold, Akershus, Oslo, Buskerud, Oppland and Hedmark. Eastern Norway is by far the most populous region of Norway. It contains the country's capital, Oslo, which is Norway's most populous city. In Norwegian, the region is called Østlandet and Austlandet in contrast to Vestlandet .

    Gardnos crater is a meteorite impact crater in Nes municipality in the county of Buskerud, Norway. It is located inside Meteorite Park at Gardnos 10 km north of the town of Nesbyen. Gardnos crater is 5 kilometres in diameter, and was created when a meteorite with an estimated diameter of 200 to 300 metres struck 500 million years ago. At first this site was believed to be a volcanic crater, but in 1990 two geologists, Johan Naterstad and Johannes A. Dons, confirmed that it was in fact formed by meteorite impact.The original bedrock in the area was fractured and a powder of crushed rocks was forced into all the fractures.     Geiranger is a small tourist village in Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county in the western part of Norway. It lies in Stranda at the head of the Geirangerfjorden, which is a branch of the large Storfjorden. The nearest city is Ålesund. Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia by Lonely Planet. Since 2005, the Geirangerfjord area has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Seven Sisters waterfall is located just west of Geiranger, directly across another waterfall called The Suitor. Norwegian County Road 63 passes through the village.
