La ciudad de Badajoz se encuentra situada en el suroeste de España, en el límite con la frontera portuguesa. Pertenece a la comunidad autónoma de Extremadura y cuenta con 152.270 habitantes. Fue fundada por Ibn Marwan en el siglo IX, durante la dominación musulmana de la península. De esta época destaca la Alcazaba, aunque también encontramos otros edificios de interés como la Torre de Espantaperros, la Catedral, Puerta Palma, la Plaza de Toros o el Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporáneo.
Badajoz is located in the southwest of Spain, on the border with the Portuguese border. It belongs to the region of Extremadura and has 152.270 inhabitants. It was founded by Ibn Marwan in the ninth century, during the Muslim domination of the peninsula.
