Faugères is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in France and is named after Faugères. It is also known as Coteaux-du-Languedoc Faugères and lies 20 km northwest of Béziers, on the hills of Hérault. It is a local classification within the Coteaux-du-Languedoc AOC.

The Réserve Africaine is a 300-hectare zoo that opened in 1974 in Sigean, Aude, in the south of France. The zoo is home to some 3,800 animals representing about 160 species, and is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums .

La Suisse est un pays bien calme dont on a tous entendu parlé. Mais à part ses magnifiques paysages, quelles sont les premières choses qui nous viennent à l'esprit la concernant? Ses montres de luxe ou encore son chocolat? Il existe toutefois une autre chose à côté de laquelle il serait dommage de passer. En effet dans le canton du Valais, au coeur des Alpes, on trouve une multitude de vins à découvrir. Ce travail réalisé suite à mon cours de documentaire à l'Université de Film de Pékin vous invite à la découverte de la Viticulture Héroïque du Valais.

Switzerland is a quiet country that we have all heard about. But beside its magnificent landscapes, what is Switzerland famous for abroad? Its luxurious watches or its delicious chocolate? However there is something else. In the heart of the Alps, in the canton of Valais, you can find numerous wines to discover which would be a shame to miss. I hope you will enjoy this short documentary about the heroic viticulture in Valais.

02 August 2008 - 02 August 2008 - VINEYARDS IN SWITZERLAND-Between Lake Biel and Neuchätel-Many of the vineyards have been operated by the same families for the generations. Currently, the Lavaux vineyards stretch about 30 kilometers along the northern shores of Lake Geneva in the French-speaking part of Switzerland known as the Vaud Region. Many of them have been run by the same families for generations. The vines, buildings and surrounding villages reflect how production of wine has changed over the past 10 centuries. Extensive remains of houses, mills, fortified towers, and much of the landscape reflect the way wine production evolved over that time. The vineyard demonstrates in a highly visible way its evolution and development over close to a thousand years, through the preserved landscape and buildings, and also the continuation and adaptation of longstanding cultural traditions, specific to its locality. Produces a variety of white and red wines, but they are not well known outside of Switzerland because the Swiss purchase almost everything produced. Along with patronizing the vineyards, the locals are supportive of protection initiatives to keep urban settlements from endangering the region. Visitors are encouraged to sample the local wines at caves operated by the wine growers. Many are open by appointment only, so making an inquiry before you go is prudent. The wines are also available at local restaurants. To view the vineyards, a trail runs is suitable for all levels of walkers. The 32-kilometer trail includes signs explaining the types of soils, wines, vines and traditions of the area.

If you've ever been interested in what the differences in grape varietal are you visiting the Kendall Jackson Winery is good place to start. I took this video of each of their varietals that is producing grape clusters (26). Because this video is exactly 10 minutes (the youtube max) I will post further videos of each varietal individually throughout the season (when I get the change to swing by Kendall Jackson).
