DAY FOUR in Dallas we woke up at the incredible Westin Galleria and decided to take the day to drive out to Fort Worth and explore it to the fullest. Fort Worth is the next largest city. Here are the top things to do in Fort Worth!

Our first stop in Fort Worth was the Stockyards. This is basically the Wild West of Texas. Everyday at 11:30 am and 4 pm you can see a cattle drive. We then headed to buy some souvenirs.
After that we headed to Cooper’s BBQ, at only a 2-minute walk away it was the ultimate BBQ feast! Brisket, ribs, sausage and lots of beans!
Lastly we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo which is famous for being the #1 zoo in the United States! We saw everything from Asian Turtles, to Lions, Penguins and Lone Horn Rhinos!
On the ride home, our Uber driver decided to give us a quick tour of Downtown Fort Worth.

Fort Worth, Texas Of United States. History, Economy, Climate etc
Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas and the 15th-largest city in the United States. The Fort Worth metroplex is the hub of the North Texas region. Fort Worth is home to Texas Motor Speedway, also known as The Great American Speedway. Sometimes referred to as Cow town, it is by far closer to its cowboy roots than neighboring Dallas.
LOCATION
The city is located in North Texas. It is part of the Cross Timbers region; this region is a boundary between the more heavily forested eastern parts and the rolling hills and prairies of the central part. Specifically, the city is part of the Grand Prairie ecoregion within the Cross Timbers.
HISTORY
After the Mexican War to protect the settlers of Texas along the western American Frontier, Major General William Worth (1794–1849) proposed to build 10 forts. One month later, Worth died from cholera. Texas Government established a camp on the bank of the Trinity River and named the post Camp Worth in honor of the late General Worth.
The United States War Department officially named the post Fort Worth on November 14, 1849. USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) is the first ship of the United States Navy named after the city.
POPULATION
Christianity is the most prevalent religion in Fort Worth. The largest Christian denomination in the city are Baptists (18.1%). Other religions in the city of Fort Worth are Islam (1.2%), Judaism (0.4%), Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism.
CLIMATE
Fort Worth is located in the American South, and has a subtropical climate with mild winters, hot summers, and a wet spring and fall in between. In winter and summer it can also be a very dry place, as it receives warmer, drier weather from the Mojave Desert in the west and the Great Plains in the north.
The hottest month of the year is July, when the average high temperature is 35.0 °C and overnight low temperatures average 22.2 °C. The coldest month of the year is January.
Because of its position in North Texas, Fort Worth is very susceptible to supercell thunderstorms, which produce large hail and can produce tornados.
GOVERNMENT
Fort Worth has a council-manager government, with elections held every two years for a mayor. The mayor is a voting member of the council and represents the city on ceremonial occasions.
ARCHITECTURE
Downtown Fort Worth, with its unique rustic architecture, is mainly known for its Art Deco-style buildings. The Tarrant County Courthouse was created in the American Beaux Arts design, which was modeled after the Texas State Capitol building. Most of the structures around Sundance Square have preserved their early 20th-century façades.
ECONOMY
Fort Worth has traditionally been a diverse center of manufacturing, and the city had demonstrated strong economic growth since the 1980s.
Major employers in the area are American Airlines, Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems, Bell Helicopter Textron, Radio Shack Corporation. Emerging economic sectors in the new century include semiconductor manufacturing, communications equipment manufacturing, corporate offices, and distribution.
Tourism is an important contributor to the local economy. The city of Fort Worth contains over 1000 natural gas wells.
