Greensburg is a city in and the county seat of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States, and a part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area. The city lies within the Laurel Highlands and the ecoregion of the Western Allegheny Plateau. The city is named after Nathanael Greene, a major general of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. The population was 14,892 at the 2010 census. Arthur St. Clair was a Scottish-American soldier and politician. Born in Thurso, Scotland, he served in the British Army during the French and Indian War before settling in Pennsylvania, where he held local office. During the American Revolutionary War, he rose to the rank of major general in the Continental Army, but lost his command after a controversial retreat from Fort Ticonderoga. After the war, he served as President of the Continental Congress, which during his term passed the Northwest Ordinance. He was then made governor of the Northwest Territory in 1788, and then the portion that would become Ohio in 1800. In 1791, St. Clair commanded the American forces in what was the United States's worst ever defeat against the American Indians. Politically out-of-step with the Jefferson ad...

This property was hit really bad by Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and again by Hurricane Wilma in 2005, and suffered damages from unimaginable amounts of flooding.
The owners have since been involved with extensive clean up and repair work to get the building back into shape. They plan to reopen soon, but have yet to announce an official date.

Only known coke oven ruins in allegheny county. Located off 5th Ave N Versailles/East Mckeesport these only come out when the leaves drop. Do not know their history, but very few coke oven operations existed in Allegheny county. Ironically, the main modern coke operations are in fact in Clairton, Allegheny county!
