I am hiking a trail that leads 820 km from one ending of Estonia to another. I will hike it through in sections and document all my mishaps and discoveries during it all. I'm a total beginner in this hiking thing and I will learn on the way. I invite you to take part of this learning process! :)

Suur Munamägi. Haanja. Estonia
Entro en la República de Estonia por un pequeño puesto fronterizo al suroeste del país en los límites de las fronteras con Rusia y Letonia de donde vengo. Estoy alejado de cualquier ruta turística, por lo que puedo ver como es la vida rural de estos países Bálticos. Las red viaria es básica con muchos tramos en los que ni siquiera hay asfalto (foto 1), pequeños poblados sencillos (foto 2 y 3), iglesias (foto 4), y tranquila naturaleza (foto 5). Y es que el relieve de Estonia casi todo compuesto de prados y bosques, ofrece solamente colinas de baja altitud debido a que los glaciares de la era cuaternaria erosionaron las cimas.
La montaña más alta de Estonia y de todos los países Bálticos es el Suur Munamägi (foto 6) con una modesta altura de 318 metros aunque realmente son solo 62 desde su base donde se asienta a la cima. El nombre de Suu Munagämi significa Cerro de Huevo, y es que esta es la forma que tiene que parece un medio huevo visto desde lejos (foto 7).
Así que subir a la montaña más alta de Estonia no supone ningún problema por unos tranquilos senderitos (fotos 8 y 9). En el tramo más empinado hay unas escaleras de cemento (foto 10), y bancos en los que descansar en todo el camino (foto 11).
Una vez en la cima nos encontramos con una torre de observación de 29 metros (foto 12) a la que se puede subir pagando una pequeña entrada (un poco menos pequeña si quieres subir en ascensor). Esta torre hace de vértice geodésico para los geógrafos, y de mirador panorámico para los turistas, y es que la cima se encuentra totalmente repleta de altos árboles (fotos 13 a 15), y la visibilidad es cero desde el suelo, pero desde la torre se puede divisar en un radio de 50 kilómetros a la redonda tanto el territorio estonio, como el cercano ruso y letón (fotos 16 a 18)...

In this vlog we visit a small but very special town Haanja showcasing its delightful cafe and the tallest peak in Estonia - Suure Munamäe Tower at 318 Meters height.
Afterwards, in need for more excitement, we head to one of Estonia's musical and cultural upbeat place Viljandi! And Viljandi did not disappoint!

SUUR MUNAMÄGI - Highest Peak in Estonia. Самая высокая вершина в Прибалтике.
Suur Munamägi, 318 metres from the sea level, is the highest point of the Baltics. The observation tower on Suur Munamägi provides its visitors with a splendid 50 km range view of the Estonian nature.
The current tower, the sixth in line, was constructed in 1939, and reconstructed in 1969. A total of 29.1 metres in height, it was renovated once more in 2005 and an elevator was built into the back of the tower.
A person standing on top of the tower is standing 346.7 metres above the sea level. The first tower was built in 1812. The height of Suur Munamägi makes it one of the most important national symbols of Estonia.

THE TRAIL
This vlog series follows the RMK Peraküla – Ähijärve trail which I hiked in 2018 from Ähijärve to Peraküla. It is a beautiful and diverse trail of 820 km / 510 miles from Southeast to Northwest Estonia.

Lola and other Mongrels - Bikepacking Estonia 2017
Me, myself, I and Karin and of course Lola went on a weekend warrior trip following the northern coast of Estonia. Camped in the wild for a couple of nights before heading home. There was no set route, nor plans to guide us, just the wish to get out of the mundane daily routine and ride. Enjoy. We did.
Filmed on Panasonic Lumix G7 with 14-140mm lens and the internal mic (just for testing purposes).
The bike I rode was a 2017 Surly Ogre on 29x2.5 tyres and Karin rode her Radon ZR Lady with 27.5x2.4 tyres. Other equipment includes: Restrap roll bags (mine unfortunately broke), Topeak Backloader saddlebags, Blackburn cages, random KLS frame bags, Bikepack.pl bar harnesses.
There's a slight issue with the discolorization that is a part of my fumbling at the dials in Premiere, the stock footage colors looked way better (used Cinelike D).
