Heathsville is a census-designated place in and the county seat of Northumberland County, Virginia, United States. Heathsville is the eastern-most county of the Northern Neck of Virginia, which was the birthplace of three of the first five Presidents of the United States - George Washington, James Madison, and James Monroe. The town itself is the county seat of Northumberland County, and has housed four county courthouses since the first was built in 1663. It is also home to numerous historical home sites, some dating to the late 18th century. 1. Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum St Michaels
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is located in St. Michaels, Maryland, United States and is home to a collection of Chesapeake Bay artifacts, exhibitions, and vessels. This 18-acre interactive museum was founded in 1965 on Navy Point, once a site of seafood packing houses, docks, and work boats. Today, the Museum houses the world's largest collection of Chesapeake Bay boats and provides interactive exhibits in and around the 35 buildings which dot the campus. The Museum also offers year-round educational seminars and workshops.

Bush Mill Stream Natural Area Preserve in Heathsville, Virginia

This small preserve is a great example of an environment that was once very common all over the Chesapeake Bay region: brackish tidal marshes and mud flats where fresh water streams meet the salt water rivers that flow into the Chesapeake Bay. Bush Mill Stream is one of the major tributaries of Great Wicomico River. During America's Colonial Period, ocean going vessels were able to sail up the Great Wicomico to the mouth of Bush Mill Stream to a point known as Deep Landing. Goods like lumber and agricultural products were often transported through this port. Today, changes in water levels in Great Wicomico have made it so that ships can no longer reach Deep Landing.

The preserve is open during day light hours and can be reached and explored on foot via the Deep Landing Trail and Heron Trail. You can also explore the preserve via kayak or canoe. The preserve is located in Northumberland County, on the Northern Neck peninsula of Virginia's eastern Tidewater Region, near the town of Heathsville.

A Trip to Monterey, VA.screenflow

A scenic drive from Snowshoe, WV, over the Virginia state line to the lovely town of Monterey. The quest: find a local restaurant with a good hamburger. Along the way we saw wildlife, drove the winding mountain roads to Cass, WV where a real steam locomotive takes you on a long trip through this mining region. Finally we found our holy grail, the High Restaurant. Look inside, and then take a walk with us through the quaint town of Victorian architecture.
