The Grand Hotel was a hotel located in Highmount, New York. It was built by the Ulster and Delaware Railroad in 1881 and closed in 1966. J. A. Wood was the building's architect. Sitting on the side of Monka Hill, it had 418 rooms overlooking the Big Indian Valley towards Slide Mountain.The railroad had chosen the scenic spot which was up the hill from their line and created a railroad station of the same name to feed both the hotel and the railroad with business.

Bushkill Falls is a series of eight privately owned waterfalls, the tallest of which cascades over 100 feet , located in Northeast Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains in the United States. Beginning at the headwaters of the Little Bushkill Creek, the water descends the mountain, toward the Delaware River, forming Bushkill Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Bridesmaid Falls, Laurel Glen Falls, Pennell Falls, and three additional, unnamed falls.Bushkill Falls is a popular spot for hiking and birdwatching. The area features a variety of trails and bridges that vary in length and difficulty.

The Catskill Mountain Railroad is a heritage tourist railroad based in Kingston, New York, that began operations in 1982. While freight service was no longer offered, regular passenger excursions were operated on two sections of track separated by three washouts because of severe flooding. The railroad leased the former New York Central Railroad Catskill Mountain branch from Kingston to Highmount, New York. The railroad connected the Hudson Valley with the Catskill Mountains of New York State.
On August 6, 2016, the CMRR resumed operations under a new permit agreement with Ulster county for two portions of the Catskill Mountain Branch in Ulster County.
