Hjelmeland is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hjelmelandsvågen. Other villages in the municipality include Fister, Årdal, and Jøsenfjorden.Hjelmeland is known for its fruit and fish production. Salmon has been important for the fish industry in Hjelmeland for a couple of decades, but white fish such as cod and halibut has increased its value in the latter years. Trollgarden is a glacial moraine in the municipality of Hjelmeland in Rogaland county, Norway. The moraine is a 5-metre tall ridge of stones, rocks, and boulders that runs for about 2 kilometres from the east side of the lake Kvivatnet across the moorland to the northern side of the mountain Brendeknuten in the Hjelmelandsheiane mountains. The name Trollgarden is translated to English as The Troll's stone fence since it looks like a rock wall that a troll may have built around its farm. The ridge sits about 8 kilometres southeast of the village of Jøsenfjorden and about 25 kilometres northeast of the village of Hjelmelandsvågen.

Kjerag or Kiragg is a mountain in Forsand municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 1,110-metre tall mountain sits on the southern shore of the Lysefjorden, just southwest of the village of Lysebotn. Its northern side is a massive cliff, plunging 984 metres almost straight down into the Lysefjorden, a sight which attracts many visitors each year. Another tourist attraction, the Kjeragbolten, a 5-cubic-metre stone wedged between two rocks is located on the mountain. The Kjeragfossen waterfall plunges off the mountain down to the fjord. Månafossen is a waterfall in Gjesdal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 92-metre tall waterfall is located along the river Månaåna, about 6 kilometres east of the end of the Frafjorden where the village of Frafjord is located. The waterfall is in a fairly isolated area. There is a parking area nearby with a steep, rough 250-metre hiking trail up a mountainside to see the waterfall. The hike takes about 30 minutes.

Sogndalstrand

Sogndalsstranda or Sogndalstrand is a harbor village in Sokndal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the mouth of the river Sokno, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the municipal centre of Hauge and also about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southeast of the village of Rekefjord. The Jøssingfjorden lies about 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) southeast of the village.

The village has about 280 residents and it has become a tourist destination since the 1990s. The old village has many wooden buildings and warehouses. These buildings and the surrounding area were protected by law in 2005. Locally, the area is also known as simply Strondo.

Odda

Odda is a municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality is located in southeastern Hordaland county, surrounding the southern end of the Sørfjorden. The administrative centre is the town of Odda, which is also the main commercial and economic centre of the entire Hardanger region. Other villages in the municipality include Botnen, Eitrheim, Håra, Røldal, Seljestad, Skare, and Tyssedal.
In 1927, Erling Johnson, working at Odda Smelteverk, invented a process to produce three-component, NPK fertilizers. This process is now known as the Odda process.
