HamsunsenteretHamaroy The Knut Hamsun Centre is a museum and educational centre in Hamarøy in Northern Norway dedicated to the life and work of the writer Knut Hamsun.The architect Steven Holl was first contacted about designing a centre for Knut Hamsun in 1994. He traveled to Hamarøy and made a watercolour of the centre's design that looks quite similar to the building today. Holl was inspired by the Hamarøy nature and scenery, by Norwegian building tradition with stave churches and sod roofs, and by Hamsun's literature—especially the early works Hunger and Mysteries . Even the RV and tent campsites where just like on the northshore on lake Superior of Milnnesota. The Pine trees and waterfalls just like the northshore. Outstanding drive from Narvik to Fauske. One of things found interesting the city of Narvik is just like the hometown I grew up in. Duluth Minnesota. The same depressing, damp, chilly, steep streets and most of all the reddish dust from iron ore everywhere. The iron ore ships and loading docks just like duluth, wow.

Endnu en gang gik turen til det skønne Norge. Verdens smukkeste land.
Målet for turen i år var, at nå Europas nordligste punkt. Nordkapp.
Dette mål blev nået allerede på turens fjerde dag.
Derefter gik turen øst på mod Kirkenes og den norske / russiske grænse ved Jakobselv.
Nu på den ellevte dag går turen sydpå gennem Norge via E6.
