The total area protected by national parks is approximately 1,111,600 hectares , for an average of 22,685 hectares but a median of only 14,836 hectares at Zalissya. The largest national park is Upper Pobozhia in Khmelnytskyi Oblast: at over 100,000 hectares . The smallest park is Derman-Ostroh National Nature Park, at less than 5,500 hectares .
