Kingfisher is a city in and the county seat of Kingfisher County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 4,633 at the 2010 census. It is the former home and namesake of Kingfisher College. According to the Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History and Culture, Kingfisher is now primarily a bedroom community for people employed in Enid and Oklahoma City.

A Route 66 museum is a museum devoted primarily to the history of U.S. Route 66, a U.S. Highway which served the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois, in the United States from 1926 until it was bypassed by the Interstate highway system and ultimately decommissioned in June 1985. In many towns and US states on the former highway, the initial efforts to establish museums to preserve the road's history were led by individual state-level Route 66 associations or local groups. Wheeling to Fairmont part 3 of 3, finally able to get around the slower moving traffic as we approached Hundred, we are able to drive the posted speed and enjoy some the windy bits between Hundred and Fairmont, This section of US 250 goes through Mannington, where we have stopped to watch the fireworks on past Independence Days. We will head back to Mannington after we check in to our hotel and watch them again this year.
