Konjic is a town and municipality located in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in northern Herzegovina, around 50 kilometres southwest of Sarajevo. It is a mountainous, heavily wooded area, and is 268 m above sea level. The municipality extends on both sides of the Neretva River. As of 2013, it has a population of 26,381 inhabitants. The town is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Bosnia, dating back almost 4000 years; the city in its current incarnation arising as an important town in the late 14th century.

    Prenj is a mountain range in the Dinaric Alps of southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in eastern Herzegovina near Mostar, Jablanica and Konjic. The highest peak is Zelena glava at 2,115 m . Prenj massif has at least 11 peaks over 2000 m.The name Prenj is derived from Perun, supreme deity of Slavic mythology. Geologically, the Prenj range is part of the Dinaric Alps and formed largely of secondary and tertiary sedimentary rock, mostly limestone and dolomite with notable characteristics of a karst landform. Due to subterranean drainage, Prenj is relatively dry with few water sources, just a few tiny lakes and some smaller streams that source from these mountains: the Baščica and the Bijela, tributaries of the Neretva.
