Kurseong is a hill station and sub-divisional town in the Darjeeling district of the Indian state of West Bengal. Located at an altitude of 1,458 metres , Kurseong is 32 kilometres from Darjeeling and has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Kurseong is 47 kilometres from Siliguri and is connected to the city by road and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The nearest airport is at Bagdogra and the nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri [NJP], which is about 53 kilometres from the town. The economy is based primarily on education and tourism.

    The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. The site was chosen within the larger religious complex of the Rabong Gompa , itself a centuries-old place of pilgrimage. Also nearby is Ralang Monastery, a key monastery in Tibetan Buddhism. The statue was consecrated on 25 March 2013 by the 14th Dalai Lama, and became a stop on the 'Himalayan Buddhist Circuit'.
