Quimixto es una playa, pueblo y cascada muy conocido y popular, que se encuentra entre Playa Las Ánimas y Playa Majahuitas, junto a la desembocadura del río La Puerta, en la parte sur de Bahía de Banderas en Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, México.

Puede llegar allí tomando un taxi acuático (panga) desde Boca de Tomatlán, será un viaje de 20 minutos o desde el muelle de la Playa de Los Muertos (unos 45 minutos). Otra forma popular de llegar es con uno de los muchos tours de cruceros que parten en Puerto Vallarta y que van a la parte sur de la Bahía de Banderas.
La playa de arena de grano medio es estrecha (25 metros - 77 pies de ancho) y 600 m (1900 pies) de largo, principalmente con olas suaves, hay algunos locales y restaurantes de comida mexicana y mariscos donde encontrarás platos locales sencillos, rústicos pero sabrosos. Las aguas limpias y cristalinas son populares entre los buceadores y fans del esnórkel.
Otra actividad popular cuando visita Quimixto es ir a la cascada, es una caminata agradable, pero puede ser mucho para niños y adultos que no están en buena forma, para ellos existe la opción de ir a caballo.

You can get there taking a water taxi (panga) from Boca de Tomatlán, it'll be a 20 minute trip or from the Los Muertos Beach Pier (some 45 minutes). Another popular way to get there is with one of the many beach cruise tours in Puerto Vallarta that go to the southern part of the Banderas Bay.
The medium grain sand beach is narrow (25 meters - 77ft wide) and 600m (1900ft) long, mostly with soft waves, lined by local seafood and Mexican food eateries where you'll find simple, rustic, but tasty local dishes. The crystal clear clean waters are popular with snorkelers and scuba divers.
Another popular activity when you visit Quimixto is to go to the waterfall, it's a nice walk, but might be a bit too much for children and adults that are not in good shape, for them there is the option of going on horseback.

Picture and Carrizo Canyons in S.E. Colorado make a perfect one day adventure for folks in Huerfano and Las Animas Counties. Driving time is less than two hours from Cuchara, La Veta and Trinidad. As the Spanish Peaks and the Sangre De Cristo Mountains shrink on the western horizon, a whole new world of exploration opens up in the Comanche National Grasslands. These Canyons are located south of Springfield in Baca County, however from our direction we left U.S. 160 at County Rd. 10 which reduced our driving time. The Greatest Adventures Are Waiting In Your Own Backyard.
SAN JUAN SKYWAY
It was a long day at 250 miles but what a drive! The San Juan Skyway is a loop through the San Juan Mountains and it is incredible. History, 10k+ foot passes, waterfalls, quaint mountain towns, you name it. If you're in the area, this is a great way to explore the Rockies and Colorado.

40 Acre Wooded Mountain Top Homesite with breathtaking 360 degree views that include the Spanish Peaks, Greenhorn Mountain and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range.
There are electricity lines and poles about 250 feet from the property. Electricity is provided by San Isabel Electric
There were fresh wildlife tracks and droppings on the property. The property is located in Game Management Unite 85 and is close to several hundred acres BLM Land. Native Wildlife in the area includes Elk, Mule Deer, Antelope and Turkey.
The property may be used recreationally, seasonally or as a permanent residence.
Minimum dwelling size is only 600 square feet per the Las Animas County Land Use Guidelines. Mobile homes and manufactured homes are allowed. You can also do alternative types of building like Cabins, Modular Home,Tiny Home, Shipping Container Home, Barndominium, Earthship Home, Straw Bale House, Hempcrete House or Yurt.
There were 2 School Buses, an RV, a Travel Trailer and a bunch of tires on the property when we purchased it. These items are considered to have no value and come with the property. We do not know the history of these items.
There are several examples of re-purposing these items into a variety of uses. People have been converting school buses into tiny homes, they refer to them as Skoolies. These converted school buses can generate rental income through sites like AirBNB (see photos).
The RV could also be converted to a tiny home or a variety of other uses. We found an article on how an old travel trailer was converted into a chicken coop.
Tires are often used to build retaining walls, including the walls of self-sustaining Earthship homes.
Horses, Cattle, Exotics and other animals are permitted.
There are site-built homes, mobile homes, accessory buildings and ranches on nearby parcels (see photos).

29 minutes to the city of Trinidad with a population of around 10,000 people. In Trinidad you will find a Walmart Supercenter, groceries, supplies, medical care, schools and professional services.
36 minutes to the Trinidad Lake State Park, with 800 acres of water ideal for numerous water sports. Anglers catch rainbow and cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, channel catfish, walleye, crappie and perch. The lake is popular for water skiing and windsurfing.
42 minutes to Walsenburg, Colorado via maintained private, County and State roads. In the town of Walsenburg you will find groceries, supplies, medical care, schools and professional services.
The Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in Walsenburg has a Level IV Trauma Center, specialty clinics and the 5 Star Rated Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center.

64 minutes to the Spanish Peaks State Wildlife Area, which consists of 6,410 acres of incredible mountain landscape for camping, hiking, recreation and hunting of elk, deer, rabbit, squirrel and turkey.
66 minutes to the Badito Cone, Greenhorn Mountain and the San Isabel National Forest.
