Saltholmen Lighthouse is a lighthouse that is on a small island off the coast about 2 kilometres southeast of the town of Lillesand in Aust-Agder county, Norway. There has been a lighthouse here since 1882. The island are named Saltholmen . This name comes from the salt extraction industry established by Hans Nielsen Hauge that once was located there. The lighthouse is only accessible by boat and the site is open, but the building is not open to the public.

Høvåg Church is a parish church in Lillesand municipality in Aust-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Høvåg. The church is part of the Høvåg parish in the Vest-Nedenes deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built around the year 1100 with designs by an unknown architect. Extensions to the structure were made in 1767 expanding its original size. In 1828-1831, the church was restored and a wing was added on to the north facing wall. The cruciform church now seats about 315 people.

The church is part of the Lillesand parish in the Vest-Nedenes deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built around the year 1150 by an unknown architect. The church was built in a cruciform design and it seats about 350 people.

# 6 - CRUISING AROUND SOUTHERN TIP OF NORWAY, Lillesand - Kristiansand

Final leg on this years wonderful cruise through an area one never
gets tired of. I have travelled wide and far and can say it is a fantastic coastline, it is peaceful and safe. A rescue-cutter is never far away as long as you have a VHF that works! The video is quite detailed, purposely, I want to remember this myself.

Next years journey will be a very special one. Gota-canal from Gothenburg towards Aland-islands (Finland). The archipelago on the east coast of Sweden is also unique cruising area, perhaps even more beautiful. We will find out !

Last week, while “everyone” else in Norway enjoyed their winter holidays skiing in the mountains, I made my way down to Kristiansand in Southern Norway – also known as “Norway’s Riviera”. This is where many Norwegians spend their summer holidays, but let me tell you: it’s equally stunning in winter!

Kristiansand makes for the perfect Nordic city trip – especially if you’re looking to combine culture and cuisine with adventures in the Norwegian wilderness!
