Lowman is a small unincorporated rural census-designated place in the western United States, located in Boise County, Idaho. It is nestled along the north bank of the South Fork of the Payette River in the central part of the state, at an elevation of 3,800 feet above sea level.     Payette Lake is a natural lake, formed by glacial activity, situated in the upper drainage basin of the Payette River, which drains into the Snake River in southwestern Idaho. Outflow from the lake is regulated for irrigation purposes by a small dam completed in 1943. The normal maximum lake surface elevation of 1,520 metres above sea level is attained in July; a normal drawdown of 1.7 metres is completed by December.     Redfish Lake is an alpine lake in the western United States in central Idaho. It is located in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains in Custer County, south of Stanley. It is named for the brilliant sockeye salmon that once returned from the Pacific Ocean in such massive quantities that the lake shimmered red during spawning season. Currently, only a small percentage of the wild sockeye succeed in making through the several hydroelectric dams along their route back to the lake to spawn. Sockeye must not be targeted while fishing and must immediately be released if they are caught. The surface elevation of Redfish Lake is 6,547 feet above sea level.
