Rakhine state
) is a state in Myanmar (Burma). Situated on the western coast, it is bordered by Chin State to the north, Magway Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region to the east, the Bay of Bengal to the west, and the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh to the northwest. It is located approximately between latitudes 17°30' north and 21°30' north and east longitudes 92°10' east and 94°50' east. The Arakan Mountains, rising to 3,063 metres (10,049 ft) at Victoria Peak, separate Rakhine State from central Burma. Off the coast of Rakhine State there are some fairly large islands such as Cheduba and Myingun Island. Rakhine State has an area of 36,762 square kilometres (14,194 sq mi) and its capital is Sittwe.[2]

미얀마 북부로 가는 길, 미얀마의 젖줄이라는 이라와디 강이 관통하는 미얀마 중부는 평지가 많고 1년 내내 더운 편이다. “민닷은 추운 지역이지만 경치는 정말 아름다워요. 볼거리도 많은데 친족 7개 부족의 독특한 문화는 특히 재밌어요” 가는 길엔 염소 떼가 자주 보인다. 이곳에서는 염소고기가 소나 돼지고기보다 비싸다고 한다. 드디어 평지가 끝나고 산길이 시작된다. 이곳 주민들이 버스처럼 이용하는 승합차가 좁은 산길에서 가다 서다를 반복한다. 평지의 더위도 산길을 오르자 가신다. 이제 시원하다. 10시간을 넘게 달려 거의 목적지에 온 것 같다. 가까이에 산중도시 민닷의 집들이 보이기 시작한다. 마을 어귀에서 뭔가 벌어진 모양인데 그냥 지나칠 수 없었다. 설마 나를 반기는 행사는 아닐테고 무슨 일일까? “저 차에 마을 사람들이 타고 있는데 축구 대회에서 큰 상을 받고 돌아왔어요” 친주 전체 축구대회에서 3등을 했다고 한다. 미얀마인들의 축구사랑도 우리에 뒤지지 않는다. 그야말로 금의환향이다. “너희들이 큰 일을 했구나” 그런데 아주머니들이 아이들에게 주먹밥을 한 명 한 명 먹인다. “축하의 의미로 친족은 이런 주먹밥을 줘요. 12살도 안된 아이들이 큰 일을 한거죠” 쌀이 귀한 산에서 쌀밥을 주는 것은 최고의 환대라고 한다. “친주 전체에서 이런 큰 상을 받은 것은 최초예요. 이 아이들이 잘 커서 더 좋은 선수들이 됐으면 하는 바람이죠” 용맹하기로 소문난 친족은 전통적으로 산에서 들짐승을 사냥하며 살았던 민족이다. “이건 사냥할 때 쓰던 화살이에요. 조상 대대로 썼던 거고 지금도 써요” 환영행사는 이게 끝이 아니다. 시내 카퍼레이드까지 한단다. 해발 1500미터에 위치한 산중도시 민닷. 이런 크고 작은 산중도시들이 친주 곳곳에 있다. 시원한 기후 탓에 저지대의 미얀마 사람들이 가장 오고 싶어 하는 지역이다. 산에 있는 마을이 얼마나 크겠어 했는데 예상과 달리 민닷은 꽤 컸다. 시내 중심엔 사람들이 가득하다. 앞서 만났던 축구선수들을 기다리는 것이란다.

Sky Palace Hotel and Cafe Flight in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar - HD
The Sky Palace Hotel and Flight Cafe in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, is located on Yaza Thingaha Road, a strip of sprawling high-rise and villa-style hotels and resorts in the middle of the hotel zone of the city.
In this HD video, which was filmed on 25 January 2015, you can see what a Classic Standard Room is like, and how that contrasts to the impressive exterior.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the Capital Hypermarket and Junction Shopping Mall which is extremely useful as there is absolutely nothing else - apart from other hotels - in the immediate area.
While the rooms themselves are basic, they are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi, which is complimentary to all guests, is a LOT faster than what you would get from a 5-star hotel in a major international city such as Hong Kong or Singapore. It is without a doubt one of the best WiFi speeds you will find anywhere!!
The hotel is also home to Cafe Flight which is operates as the hotel's restaurant and entertainment area. It comprises the main restaurant, private dining rooms, and a meeting/event space with karaoke. The Fokker 28 has been converted into a rather unique restaurant and bar.
The Sky Palace Hotel is one of the official hotels for the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2015 which is taking place in Nay Pyi Taw this month (22-29 January 2015).
Touring Sagaing Hill / စစ်ကိုင်းမြို့ (Three Cities Tour)
Sagaing Hill / စစ်ကိုင်းမြို့ has numerous pagodas and monasteries crowding hills along a ridge running parallel to the Irrawaddy River. Sagaing was the capital of Sagaing Kingdom (1315–1364), one of the minor kingdoms that rose up after the fall of Pagan dynasty, where one of Thihathu's sons, Athinkhaya, established himself. During the Ava period (1364–1555), the city was the common fief of the crown prince or senior princes. The city briefly became the royal capital between 1760 and 1763 in the reign of King Naungdawgyi.
The Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda / ဆွမ်းဦးပုညရှင်ဘုရား is located on the top of the Sagaing Hill and is one of the hill's oldest temples. The pagoda is connected by a set of covered staircases that run up the 240 meter hill.
U Min Thonze Caves or literally '30 Caves' is famed for its crescent-shaped colonnade of 45 Buddha images.
