    Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is located in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra state, India. It is Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park. Created in 1995, the area of the Reserve is 625.40 square kilometres . This includes Tadoba National Park, created in 1955 with an area of 116.55 square kilometres and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary created in 1986 with an area of 508.85 square kilometres . The Reserve is constituted with 577.96 square kilometres of reserve forest and 32.51 square kilometres of protected forest.

    Melghat was declared a tiger reserve and was among the first nine tiger reserves notified in 1973-74 under the Project Tiger. It is located at 21°26′45″N 77°11′50″E in northern part of Amravati District of Maharashtra State in India. The Tapti River and the Gawilgadh ridge of the Satpura Range form the boundaries of the reserve. In 1985 Melghat Wildlife Sanctuary was created. The Tapi river flows through the northern end of the Melghat Tiger Reserve, through a forest which lies within the catchment area of the river system. Many different kinds of wildlife, both flora and fauna, are found here.

    Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary for the great Indian bustard at Solapur, Maharashtra, India. The land is drought-prone and semi-arid. Its ecoregion is that of Kathiawar-Gir dry deciduous forests.Maharashtra is one of the six states of India where great Indian bustards are still seen. The great Indian bustard at Nannaj and Karmala was first identified By Mr B.S.Kulkarni in 1972 and with his constant efforts to save the bird had resulted in Dr. Salim Ali visiting Nannaj and starting a research project. Mr Kulkarni wrote extensively in local newspapers and made people aware of its existence and he is still active in trying to protect the bird and its habitat at Nannaj, near Solapur. In former days the bustard was a common bird in the dry districts of Maharashtra.
